De Anza College Digital Arts and Design

De Anza Extended Year Summer College for Teens is a summer enrichment program where the focus is on teaching and learning, not grades and exams. The program is four weeks in length and is offered in the morning hours.

Since early 2012 I have been teaching and contributing to the development of new digital media and design courses for the teens’ arts and education program in the Euphrat Museum of Art at De Anza College. The curriculum focuses on key educational elements and the corresponding projects are designed to teach computer graphics programs, and enhance critical thinking. Below are some of the students' works examples.

Students use Adobe Photoshop CS6 to design their projects. They also conduct projects inspired by photos they took on campus. They learn digital color theory, elements and principles of design and how to use the Adobe Photoshop program's features.
